Rensselaer has always been a railroad town, even when rail esrvices died out in the 70's. It's still a stop for the N'Orlins to Chitown Amtrak. Here's a bunch of random shots along the tracks, the massive Amtrak sta., and the trackside industries. No yards there, but the whole corridor is essentially a yard.
I hope you can use some details from these shots for your layouts. If there is something you need to see closer, let me know, as I have large copies archived and we can work with those. Also I can reshoot, as I go there regularly.

Genova/Rensselaer plastics, I was going to say, "if you live in the midwest, next time you buy pvc pipe, look at the label, it's likely to say Genova." After reveiwing the photo's, and reading the signs, I'll say "if you live on Earth, next time you buy pvc pipe, look at the label, it's likely to say Genova."
Good to see it survived NAFTA.
